The offer
Adults in India can download OpenBot free for macOS 13+, Windows 10+ or 64-bit Linux to run persistent AI teammates using their own model or provider plan. The current v0.49.0 release uses PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0, not an open-source licence: commercial use requires a separate licence, and your hardware, model subscriptions, API usage and optional hosting cost extra. This development preview lets agents change files and run commands without per-action approval; cloud providers receive task data, and usage analytics are on by default but can be disabled in Settings → General → Permissions → Share product analytics.
Who can claim it
- Age 18 or older; the official privacy policy states worldwide availability, including India.
- Free licence covers non-commercial purposes; commercial use requires a separate licence.
- Use macOS 13+ on Apple silicon or Intel, Windows 10+ on x64, or 64-bit Linux on x64 or arm64.
- Supply compatible hardware and a supported AI provider plan, API key or local model.
How to claim it
- Open the official download page and choose the installer for your operating system and processor.
- Install and open OpenBot; Linux users should follow the linked AppImage and sandbox setup instructions.
- Connect a supported AI provider or a local model.
- Describe the agent you want, review its instructions and save it before sending tasks.
- To disable desktop usage analytics, open Settings → General → Permissions and turn off Share product analytics.
Good to know
This is ongoing free non-commercial software, not a timed paid-plan trial. AI provider charges, hardware and optional hosted services remain separate; commercial use needs a separate licence.
Source-available under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0, not OSI open source. Agents can read/change files, run commands and use the browser without asking each time; keep backups. Task data can reach chosen AI providers. Default analytics includes usage metadata and visited website domains; account-service events are independent of the desktop opt-out. No paid AI subscription or hosted inference credits are included.

Your vote is how a dead offer comes down: three or more "Didn't" in two days, outnumbering the "Worked" votes, and it is taken off the site.
Some links pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra and never decides what is listed. Full disclosure.
