The offer
Indian users can self-host Xiryn, a free open-source personal AI agent with a local browser interface and Docker desktops for its agents. Download or clone the source and configure a supported local model or your own provider API key; this is not a packaged desktop installer or free hosted inference. Your hardware and any hosted model or optional Firecrawl usage are separate costs.
Who can claim it
- Available to Indian users under the MIT licence; no Xiryn account or subscription is required.
- Use your own macOS, Windows or Linux computer; the current setup guide asks for about 4 GB of free disk space.
- Manual setup requires Node.js 20.9+ and Docker for agent desktop and code-execution features; each workstation defaults to 2 CPUs and 4 GB RAM.
- Configure your own hosted-model API key or a local Ollama/LM Studio model. Tool calling is required, plus image input for desktop tasks.
How to claim it
- Open the official repository and read its Quick start guide; the latest tagged release is v0.4.1 and provides source archives, not a packaged installer.
- For manual setup, install Node.js 20.9+ and Docker, then run git clone https://github.com/SouravBeraAkaSpeed/xiryn.git and cd xiryn.
- Run npm install, then npm run setup to prepare the workstation image and .env file.
- Configure a model in .env or the app Settings, using your own provider key or local Ollama/LM Studio endpoint.
- Run npm run dev and open http://127.0.0.1:6796 in your browser to create your first agent.
Good to know
There is no Xiryn trial expiry or subscription renewal. The MIT-licensed software remains free to use; your own hardware and any configured model-provider or optional service charges remain your responsibility.
Free software, not free hosted AI or hardware. Release v0.4.1 has source archives and a launch video, no attached desktop installer. Hosted model providers and optional Firecrawl bill separately. Configured providers receive model requests; Telegram and phone takeover can use external services, including a temporary Cloudflare tunnel. GitHub update checks can be disabled. MIT requires retaining its copyright/licence notice and supplies the software without warranty.
