Free AI Offers in India: What You Can Claim

Eligible students can get Google AI Plus for ₹0 for a year; Jio and Airtel bundle other AI tools with paid services. Check each claim rule.

Eligible Indian college students can get Google AI Plus for ₹0 for 12 months; Jio and Airtel also bundle AI subscriptions with eligible paid services. The catch is that a free subscription benefit is not a free mobile connection, and the offers have different claim and renewal rules.

Checked on 17 October 2026 using current official announcements and terms. This guide covers student and telecom offers, not every AI app with a free tier. We did not activate subscriptions or inspect personalised checkouts.

The current shortlist

Offer Advertised benefit Main requirement
Google student offer Google AI Plus for 12 months at no charge Eligible college student aged 18 or older, SheerID verification and payment method
Jio Gemini offer Google AI Pro for 18 months Eligible retail mobile user on an active unlimited 5G plan of ₹349 or more
Jio Canva offer Canva Pro for 12 months Eligible ₹399 prepaid recharge and no previous paid Canva subscription
Airtel Adobe offer Adobe Express Premium for 12 months Active eligible Airtel prepaid, postpaid, Wi-Fi or DTH service

The plan names matter. Google AI Plus is not Google AI Pro. Canva Pro is not Adobe Express Premium. None of those names means a ChatGPT Plus subscription.

For students: Google AI Plus

Google’s current India announcement offers eligible college students one year of Google AI Plus at no charge. It lists Gemini Omni, two times higher Gemini usage limits and 400 GB of storage.

The student offer terms require redemption by 31 December 2026. You need to be at least 18, attend an eligible higher-education institution, verify student status through SheerID and use a personal Google Account with a qualifying payment method. School-issued Workspace for Education accounts are excluded. Other restrictions cover family groups and certain existing subscriptions.

Use the claim link in Google’s announcement and check the plan and renewal amount for your account. The terms provide for paid monthly renewal after the free period, except where local law requires consent. Cancel before the offer ends if you do not want to pay. The matching Google student deal summarises the main conditions.

For eligible Jio users: Google AI Pro

Jio’s Gemini offer page lists 18 months of Google AI Pro from activation. The eligibility FAQ specifies retail mobile users on an active unlimited 5G prepaid or postpaid plan of ₹349 or above. You must keep an eligible plan active throughout the benefit.

There is an age-wording mismatch: the headline says 18 years and above, while the FAQ says above 18. If you are exactly 18, check MyJio’s eligibility result before buying a recharge for this offer. Do not assume an old age-restricted launch headline is the current rule.

Open MyJio, select the Google Gemini banner and register with the Gmail account you want to use. Jio allows one claim per unique eligible mobile number. Its current page lists 5 TB storage and higher limits for selected Google AI tools; higher limits are not unlimited use. See the matching Jio Google AI Pro deal.

For design work: Jio Canva versus Airtel Adobe

Jio’s Canva page distinguishes Canva Pro on an eligible ₹399 prepaid recharge from Canva Pro Lite on the ₹349 plan, eligible 2 GB/day plans above ₹349 or select add-ons. Do not assume every higher-priced recharge gives full Pro.

The offer applies to eligible recharges from 16 September 2026 during the offer period. It is restricted to retail users who have never paid for any Canva subscription. Keep an active eligible Jio 5G plan throughout, then claim through the Canva banner in MyJio. The matching full-Pro deal is for the stated ₹399 route, not every Pro Lite plan.

Airtel’s Adobe page instead offers 12 months of Adobe Express Premium. Its redemption window runs from 29 January 2026 to 28 January 2027. Active prepaid, postpaid, Wi-Fi and DTH customers can check eligibility in the Airtel App; prepaid customers need an active pack. Claim the Adobe card and sign in with your chosen Adobe account.

Airtel’s full terms say its free Adobe subscription does not auto-renew after 12 months. You must remain an active Airtel customer during the benefit. This is not a Canva Pro or complete Creative Cloud subscription.

Why Airtel Perplexity is not in the new-claim shortlist

Airtel’s retained Perplexity Pro terms give a redemption window ending on 16 January 2026. That is before this check. A customer who claimed in time may still be within their individual benefit period, but the old entry does not establish a fresh claim today.

The same terms describe Airtel’s selected-pack Google One benefit as 30 GB of storage. Storage alone is not a Google AI Pro entitlement. Read the exact tier, rather than treating every Google One card as paid Gemini access.

The catch

Carrier offers require continued paid service. The recharge amount is not the full cost of keeping a connection active over a year or longer. Check your actual plan validity and account eligibility before switching networks for a bundle.

Claim windows and benefit periods are different. A year-long benefit can continue after new redemptions close, while an old webpage can remain online after its deadline. Check both dates.

Renewal rules also differ. Google’s student terms provide for paid renewal; Airtel’s Adobe terms say its free benefit will not auto-renew. Read Jio’s account activation and end-of-benefit terms rather than copying another provider’s cancellation rule.

Our take

Check benefits attached to a service you already pay for first. Google AI Plus is worth checking for an eligible student who wants its listed tools and storage. Jio’s Pro benefit is worth checking for someone already maintaining an eligible 5G plan. For design work, compare the actual Canva tier with Adobe Express rather than choosing by the word free.
