Neither Jio’s Google Gemini offer nor the Airtel benefits checked includes ChatGPT Plus. ChatGPT Free costs ₹0 and does not need a carrier offer; Plus is a separate paid plan, publicly listed at ₹1,999 per month in India.
We checked the official carrier terms and ChatGPT’s public pricing on 18 October 2026. A free AI subscription is not automatically a free ChatGPT subscription. The product name matters more than the word ‘AI’ on a recharge banner.
What the carrier offers actually include

These are separate services. Do not buy a recharge expecting an OpenAI subscription unless the specific offer actually names ChatGPT and your account receives that benefit.
Is ChatGPT free with Jio?
The official Jio offer is for Google AI Pro, which includes higher access to Google’s Gemini tools. It is not a ChatGPT Plus promotion. Jio lists an included period of 18 months from activation for eligible retail prepaid and postpaid mobile users with an active unlimited 5G plan of ₹349 or above.
To claim, open MyJio, sign in, select the Google Gemini offer banner and register using your Gmail account. Jio allows one claim per eligible unique mobile number. You must keep an eligible 5G plan active throughout the benefit period. One recharge does not cover the whole period’s mobile-service cost.
The age wording is inconsistent: the headline says ‘18 years and above’, while the FAQ says ‘above 18’. If you are exactly 18, confirm eligibility in MyJio rather than assuming the two statements mean the same thing.

Is ChatGPT free with Airtel?
The Airtel mobile terms checked do not establish a ChatGPT Plus entitlement. They list a different current benefit: 12 months of Adobe Express Premium for eligible active prepaid, postpaid, Wi-Fi or DTH customers. Prepaid users need an active pack. Airtel determines account eligibility.
Check the Airtel app’s Manage page, open the Adobe Express Premium card and select Claim Now. Sign in or register with Adobe using the account you intend to keep using. The claim window ends on 28 January 2027; the included period starts at redemption, not when you first read about it.
Airtel’s selected prepaid Google One benefit is also not ChatGPT or Google AI Pro. The terms describe 30 GB of cloud storage on ₹319, ₹379 and ₹449 packs, valid with the eligible pack. A storage subscription does not establish an entitlement to a separate paid AI plan.
What about Airtel’s Perplexity offer?
The same Airtel terms still contain the older 12-month Perplexity Pro offer. However, its stated redemption window ended on 16 January 2026. We are not presenting it as available for a fresh claim in October 2026. A customer who claimed earlier may have a different account expiry date; check that account directly.
Perplexity Pro is also a different subscription from ChatGPT Plus. An AI service offering access to several model families does not make its subscription an OpenAI account upgrade.
Use ChatGPT without a carrier bundle
The official ChatGPT pricing page lists Free at ₹0 and Plus at ₹1,999 per month in the browser check. You can start with Free without claiming a Jio or Airtel benefit. Free has its own allowances; it is not a free version of the Plus subscription.
If an actual Plus promotion reaches your account, follow OpenAI’s promotion rules. Check the eligible plan, account history, region, expiry and promised price. A generic promotion help page does not prove that either carrier is issuing a ChatGPT offer.
OpenAI says not to complete checkout if the expected discount or trial is missing. If the benefit applies without checkout, confirm the updated plan after the confirmation message. Do not pay full price expecting a later refund or automatic free period.
The catch
‘Included’ software still requires the eligible paid carrier service. Jio requires an active qualifying 5G plan throughout its benefit. Airtel’s Adobe terms require an active Airtel account throughout the included period and say the offer can be cancelled if that condition stops being met. The Adobe benefit does not auto-renew after its 12 months.
For a separate ChatGPT purchase, the signed-in checkout determines the final tax treatment, amount due and renewal amount. A public list price is not checkout verification. If you receive a genuine Plus trial, read its own renewal and cancellation terms rather than borrowing those of a Gemini or Adobe offer.
Our take
If you only want ChatGPT at ₹0, start with ChatGPT Free. Do not change carriers just to get a subscription that the offer does not include. Jio’s bundle is worth checking if you already pay for an eligible plan and want Google AI Pro. Airtel’s Adobe benefit is worth checking if that is the design subscription you need. Neither replaces a Plus subscription.
